STELLAR

Mindanao’s Rising Fashion Stars

A Mindanao-wide Fashion and Design Competition

STELLAR is created as a sustainable version of a fashion and design competition platform to encourage young generation of Mindanaoan designers to rethink, create and innovate a visionary take on Mindanao’s traditional cultural and artisanal heritage for contemporary fashion and design.   As a lifestyle event, Stellar is envisioned to creatively develop and actively promote Mindanao design talents and material culture for the development of an inclusive and sustainable creative economy.

The theme of this maiden edition is “I AMindanao.”   It will challenge Mindanaoan designers to interpret the island, its people and culture, in a 5-piece capsule collection with a global perspective by tweaking Mindanao artisanal heritage to create wearable and marketable garments using manipulated commercially available materials or traditional/indigenous textiles.
