Following last year’s successful launch, Abreeza Ayala Mall and Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation, Inc. will again bring to the fore the second edition of Fashion Weekend Davao on August 4-6. DFDC will interpret on apparel the award-winning furniture pieces of globally-recognized furniture and jewelry designer Ann Tiukinhoy Pamintuan in an exhibit at the Activity Center.
On August 5, the Department of Trade and Industry Region XI and Philippine Women’s College of Davao will collaborate with DFDC in bringing together local designers and small-medium entrepreneurs in a Design Summit on Global Trend Forecast alongside with culture, heritage and identity. Among the topics are laws and legalities on cultural appropriation; case studies in appropriating materials; and ethics within and out of culture and its sensitivities, technicalities and difficulties. Final venue to be announced yet.
Culminating on August 6 is the FWD Cruise 2017|2018 fashion show featuring DFDC designers, Stellar top 3 designers, PWC Fashion Design students and 4 of Davao’s most influential Maquillage artists, who will interpret the faces of Kadayawan in 4 shades of Artistry Exact Fit Longwearing Foundation.
Kadayawan Festival’s Habi Kadayawan Fashion Accessories Design Competition and the Matigsalug Lifestyle Brand will also be featured in the culminating event.
